DisclaimerWhat this site can and cannot do

Information, not a consultation.

These pages are written to make your appointment better — to let you arrive knowing the words, the options and the questions. They are not a diagnosis, and they cannot account for what is particular about you.

01

This site is not medical advice

Everything published here is general information about conditions and procedures. It is written to help you prepare for a consultation, not to replace one. Nothing on this site creates a doctor–patient relationship, and no page should be used to diagnose yourself or to decide whether to start, stop or change a medication.

02

Emergencies

Do not use this site or the enquiry form for anything urgent. Call 000 or attend your nearest emergency department if you have sudden severe pain, new weakness or numbness in the legs, numbness around the back passage or genitals, loss of bladder or bowel control, or fever with spinal pain.

03

Individual results differ

The descriptions of recovery, duration of benefit and risk on the condition and procedure pages are typical ranges drawn from published practice. They are not a prediction for you. Your own likely benefit, and the risks that matter in your case, are discussed at consultation and written into your consent form.

04

Fees and cover

Fee ranges shown on this site are indicative and may change. A written estimate for your own care is given before any procedure is booked. Cover is a matter between you and your insurer or scheme; we can tell you what we will charge, not what they will reimburse.

05

External links

Links to other organisations are provided because they publish useful, independent information. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or availability.

06

Accuracy

Pages are reviewed periodically and carry a last-updated date. If you find something that reads as out of date or wrong, please tell us and we will correct it.

On the record

If your symptoms are sudden, severe or changing quickly, do not wait for an appointment. Call 000 or go to your nearest emergency department.
